The N.O.R.T.H. Consortium is a group of state and private higher education institutions as well as Ohio Technical Centers that are working together to address common educational, workforce development, and economic sustainability goals for the Northwest Ohio region. The consortium partners coalesced around a shared vision through the Regionally Aligned Priorities in Delivering Skills (RAPIDS) grant program from the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE), and was awarded funding for collaborative workforce development projects through RAPIDS 1.0 (2016), RAPIDS 2.0 (2017), and RAPIDS 3.0 (2018) grant cycles.
The Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) has made strategic regional investments in education equipment and facilities to develop and support postsecondary institutions’ workforce development projects that enhance the economic growth of students and businesses. The investments will directly impact the ability of the state of Ohio to retain and expand existing businesses, attract new enterprises, and further entrepreneurship by addressing regional talent and workforce needs.
