RAPIDS 3.0 (submitted June 2018, awarded Oct 2018)

The third, most recent round of RAPIDS saw the NORTH consortium grow again to include: The University of Toledo, Bowling Green State University, Rhodes State College, Northwest State Community College, Owens Community College, Terra State Community College, Ohio Northern University, Tiffin University, Penta Career Center, and Vantage Career Center.

For the RAPIDS 3.0 proposal, the NORTH consortium focused on expanding the educational and training capabilities in additive manufacturing and robotics, with a complementary focus on the critical need for cybersecurity training in the advanced manufacturing environment. The project will establish a network of additive manufacturing educational and training resources, consisting of a central hub at The University of Toledo, with three branches located at BGSU, NSCC, and Ohio Northern University. The second sphere of this project supports the ongoing demand for robotics and mechatronics training with additional equipment deployed at Rhodes State College and Owens Community College. The final component of this project will address the critical need for expanded, hands-on cybersecurity training for the advanced manufacturing sector, through portable equipment to be deployed by Tiffin University’s Center of Cyber Defense & Forensics.
