2017 Grant

RAPIDS 2.0 (submitted July 2017, awarded Dec 2017)

In the second round of RAPIDS, the NORTH Consortium included Penta Career Center, Vantage Career Center, Rhodes State College, Defiance College, Owens Community College, Northwest State Community College, Terra Community College, The University of Toledo, and Bowling Green State University.

For this project, the NORTH Consortium focused its efforts on the advanced manufacturing sector. Specifically, attention was given to robotics and mechatronics with a partnering component addressing the growing need for network security and big data analytics for the advanced manufacturing environment. The project was designed to create virtual manufacturing centers or “e-Factories” that can be accessed via the “cloud”. The “e-Factory” environment is currently being installed at the host institution, Bowling Green State University (BGSU), and will be accessible by each NORTH partner, including the OTCs.
